Professional Sports Academy is said to be massively progressing in key forms and direction.
The academy owned by Liberia’s Ambassador at large for youth and sports development, Amb. Alioune Kebe welcomes, international expert in education and sports development Arnaud Daupin.
Arnaud who is the Director of the French Development Agency for Western Balkans regional office manages and supervises the AFD activities and projects portfolio in Serbia , Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albina among others.
Mr. Dauphin very passionate about youth and sports development paid a one day practice visit at various practice sites of the PSA in Monrovia.
Impressed by the well structured and organized setup put in place by the staffs of PSA headed by Amb. Kebe , the Professional expert while visiting the hand ball setup motivated the young and determined players of the academy to be focused and passionate about what they do.
He encouraged the young handball players to bring forth some good ideas they have which he as an expert can modify to ensure that he turns them into meaningful support to improve their talents.
At the same time, Mr. Dauphin as part of his visit met with student coaches who are currently undergoing intensive training at the Liberia Football Association.
The training headed by experienced coach instructor Kesselee Kanneh informed his guest about some progress that they are making in the training of coaches in Liberia.
” We have coaches from Senegal, Nigeria and Liberia and they are passionate about the training”, Mr. Kanneh further informed Arnaud.
In response, Arnaud Daupin told the student coaches that he is in Liberia to work with the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Education in order to develop education and sports in Liberia.
According to him, with sports, a lot of things can be done.
“I am curious and is hear to listen to you people because, you people are on the field “, he added.
Mr. Dauphin encouraged actors in the sector to feel free and share their ideas because, he is open to work together with them.
Additionally, he disclosed that he is also in Liberia to develop a sports strategy in order to improve the sector.
“I am an international expert in education and sports development, I have worked with UNESCO and UNICEF among others, I have vast knowledge and ideas about the sector but I need you all to share what you have with me and I will develop them properly in order to solicit the funds to support these plans and ideas “, he noted.
The intensive and professional practice sessions witnessed by Mr. Dauphin were conducted by experienced and trained coaches of PSA as the young kids show case their talents to their guest.
The day long visit featured, handball, football and basketball respectively as Amb. Bill Rogers was also part of the day long session who helped trained and motivated the young kids during his session with them.
With bigger plans to improve and develop raw talents in Liberia, the PSA headed by Amb. Alioune Kebe is gradually making impact in the sector especially under less than a year of operations.
