The kids were spotted and taken to Thailand by Mrs. Patricia Davies Hemelberg, who is a Librarian and CEO of Determined Angels Culture and Tourism International (DACTI), founded on August 24, 2009.

Mrs. Hemelberg said the organization’s vision is to exhibit an array of African teens who are well-cultured and equipped with African moral values, intelligence, and beauty with rich knowledge of their history and to flourish in this 21st-century world.

Stressing on her organization’s mission she noted that they are committed to causing a mind-shift in the African youth, primarily teens, from the engagement of social vices for survival and the feeling of victimization to the deploying of indispensable valves that accumulate first to self-development then that of their respective communities.

Ms. Richardson, 11 years said, “ I feel great about representing my homeland in another country. “The first time I went there I thought I could not win, but I said to myself, I will win for my country and for my parents. Never feel intimidated by your skin color”. She told journalists at the Roberts International Airport upon arrival in the country.
