LKakata, Margibi County – The Representative of Margibi County District #4, Emmanuel O. Yarh, has made a significant donation to the Muslim community in the district as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.
The lawmaker presented 200 bags of rice, L$100,000.00 in cash, and 200 sacks of mineral water to support Muslims in several communities across the district during their period of fasting and spiritual reflection.
Speaking during the presentation Friday evening, Representative Yarh said the gesture was intended to identify with the Muslim community and appreciate their sacrifices during Ramadan. He noted that Muslims often remain grateful even for the smallest support they receive.
“I believe they are very appreciative people. Even the little they receive, they value it and show gratitude,” Hon. Yarh said.
The Margibi District #4 lawmaker also reflected on past national discussions concerning Muslims and their religious observances, including calls for recognition and fairness in national policies affecting the community.
He emphasized that leaders must promote equality and respect for all religious groups in Liberia.
“We believe in fairness and in the inclusion of everyone. That is why we must speak honestly on issues that affect all citizens,” he stated.
According to Representative Yarh, the donation is expected to benefit more than 11 mosques and Muslim communities across the district. He said the distribution was organized in collaboration with local Muslim leaders and organizations to ensure the items reach those most in need.
As Muslims continue their fasting period, the lawmaker encourages them to remain prayerful and to remember Liberia in their prayers.
“We want to appreciate them for their sacrifice during this fasting period. We hope that Allah will reward them with blessings. We also ask them to pray for Liberia and for peace and progress in our country,” Hon. Yarh added.
Representative Yarh expressed hope that the prayers and fasting observed during Ramadan will bring positive outcomes not only for the Muslim community but also for the nation as a whole.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker disclosed plans to continue strengthening engagement with residents of District #4, including the construction of a district office to improve communication and service delivery to the people.
The donation forms part of Representative Yarh’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable communities and promote unity among residents of Margibi County.
