MONROVIA — Musa S. Kamara, a business executive with years of experience in Liberia’s private and public sectors, has accepted appointment as National Vice Chair for Mobilization and Recruitment of the Citizens Movement for Change [CMC], pledging to expand the party’s grassroots structures and increase youth and professional participation in politics.
In an acceptance speech delivered to party leaders Saturday at the Stephen Tolbert Sports pitch, Kamara said his appointment reflects the need for professionals to step beyond business and contribute expertise to governance and policy discussions.
Kamara applauded the political Leader of CMC Hon. Musa Hassan Bility and the National Chairman and Executive Committee, for the confidence reposed in him.
“I am truly honored by this opportunity to serve our party and our beloved country.
Your trust is not something I take lightly; it is a responsibility that I accept with humility, determination, and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” he stated.
He described the appointment as a milestone in his personal and professional journey, noting that nation-building “is a shared responsibility, and every sector of society must contribute to shaping Liberia’s future.”
Kamara identified limited participation of young professionals as a critical gap in Liberia’s political landscape.
He argued that while many young Liberians excel in business, technology, health, engineering, agriculture, and education, “many remain on the sidelines of national decision-making.”
“Liberia is a youthful nation. Young people constitute a significant portion of our population and play active roles in every sector of society. Our voices, skills, energy, and innovations are essential to the progress of our country,” he said.
He expressed hope that his example would inspire other young professionals to engage in leadership and public service.
He also pledged special attention to women’s empowerment and the disabled community, stating that “the strength of any political movement lies in its ability to provide opportunities for all citizens to participate meaningfully.”
Mobilization Strategy and Party Expansion:

As Vice Chair for Mobilization and Recruitment, Kamara outlined a strategy focused on grassroots engagement, stronger local structures, and digital outreach.
He said the party will empower local leaders, ensure every supporter becomes an “ambassador of our movement,” and actively engage students, market women, business owners, farmers, religious communities, and ordinary citizens.
The new mobilization chief announced plans for “ambitious membership growth targets” through innovative recruitment, community outreach, and sustained organizing.
“Our goal is not merely to increase numbers but to build a committed, informed, and active membership capable of advancing the party’s vision at every level,” he said.
Call for Unity:
Kamara emphasized unity as the foundation of the movement, urging members to embrace teamwork, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.
“We may come from different backgrounds, counties, professions, and experiences, but we are united by a common purpose: to create positive change for Liberia,” he told partisans.
He however invited all Liberians who believe in positive change to join the CMC, pledging loyalty, dedication, and commitment to service, integrity, accountability, and progress.
The Citizens Movement for Change, led by Hon. Musa Hassan Bility, has been positioning itself ahead of Liberia’s next electoral cycle with a focus on youth and professional mobilization.
