In the wake of mounting calls for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to take some drastic action on alleged non performing officials in his Government, Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana said the Liberian leader will not take decision on hear or they say.
Speaking to Executive Mansion Reporters madam Fofana emphasized that President Boakai will only take decision based on Scientific perspective.
She told reporters that even though the Chief Executive is aware of the workings of his cabinet officials but his decision she maintained will be based upon performance appraisal.
As part of such Scientific process she disclosed that cabinet officials during commissioning ceremonies signed performance contracts and or appraisal and will be evaluated based upon their commitment march by concrete actions at their respective places of work but not by hear or they say.
According to her and in line with such exercise, some SOEs have already started presenting their reports to the President for review and subsequent actions.
“He is reviewing reports, looking at progress and challenges and where necessary , his office will render the needed assistance”, she noted.
Kula said the tracking of performance of government officials especially members of the cabinet is an ongoing process by the chief executive intended to ensure that they perform as per functions as well as in line with their performance commitment.
At the same time she stressed that the cabinet secretariat doesn’t only receive reports from cabinet officials but also does field and or site verification to ensure that what they report are in line with the tangible.
She re-emphasized that the President with his wealth of experience and knowledge in government will not reshuffle based on speculations but from informed research backed by evidence.
The Liberian leader she stated is concern about the performance of his cabinet officials and will work to ensure that they deliver on their mandates in line with commitments.
“Their performance is key and it will help the government and people in delivering the necessary and general goods for the Country “, she noted.
