Joe Moses Kpaklah, a visually impaired graduate, has completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education from Cuttington University. However, he faces a significant hurdle as he calls for assistance to cover his graduation expenses, which amount to over $640.
Kpaklah’s academic achievement is not just a personal milestone; it is a testament to the resilience and determination of visually impaired individuals in Liberia who often encounter immense challenges in accessing quality education. Despite these obstacles, Kpaklah has demonstrated that with hard work and perseverance, success is attainable.
In Liberia, education for the visually impaired remains a critical issue. Many institutions lack the necessary resources and infrastructure to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students with disabilities. Kpaklah’s journey through higher education highlights the importance of Diversity, inclusivity, and the need for support systems that can aid visually impaired students in their academic pursuits.
As he prepares for graduation, Kpaklah has reached out to the community for assistance in meeting the financial requirements imposed by the university. The $640 needed will cover various costs associated with the graduation ceremony, including regalia and other fees.
“We believe that education is a right for everyone, regardless of their physical ability,” Kpaklah stated. “I hope my story inspires others and highlights the importance of investing in education for the visually impaired in Liberia.”
Support from individuals and organizations can make a significant difference in Kpaklah’s life, helping him celebrate this important achievement and paving the way for further contributions to society as an educated professional.
Community members and potential donors are urged to come together to assist this promising graduate in reaching his graduation goals and continuing to break down barriers for future generations of visually impaired students in Liberia.
For those interested in contributing, donations can be directed to Kpaklah through local educational charities or organizations dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. He added “we can foster a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for all”.
